Bodmin Fact File
Bodmin was established in the 6th century, when St. Petroc visited there from Padstow in order to establish a priory. The priory is not there any more, though the church of St. Petroc (Cornwall's largest parish church) was built in the fifteenth century.
In the past the town was noted for its holy wells, one of which still exists in the churchyard of St Petroc's Church and dated 1700.
There is an excellent military museum at Bodmin.
